A Little Haul

I thought today I would show you guys a little haul of things I have gotten from Urban Outfitters lately. I am really happy with most of these items and thought you should know about them.

The first is this cute little backpack. It is smaller than my last one but it is perfect size for school. It fits everything I need and is a lot lighter than my last one. I really like it and it seems like it is good quality. My favorite part about it is the little mirror parts which actually aren't mirrors! You can't see yourself in them but they give the bag a nice touch.

The next two is this beautiful skirt from Motel and a pair of sheer socks. The skirt is this beautiful circle skirt with an ocean scene on it. I feel like it would look nice on anyone. The skirt is sadly now sold out now at Urban Outfitters. The socks were the only disappointment in this haul. I love the look of really sheer tights so I thought this socks would be like the tights. I was SO wrong. These socks made me look like I worked on the side of the street at night if you get what I am saying. It's all I think because of the length of the socks and the lace at the top. It also has a weird way of staying up. It has a sticky band.
That's it for my haul, see you next time!

Summer Hair Inspiration

Summer is just around the corner and what a better time to change a little something about yourself! Most people think of long, wavy hair during this season, but here are some sexy and chic looks to try out instead. Take a risk, go beyond the obvious and try something new!

Look 1: Highlighted and Curly Bob

When the weather starts heating up, you might want to cool down. Short and fresh hair makes day-to-day activities much simpler. Blonde highlights give hair a beautiful shine in the summer sun and gives hair a beachy-textured look. Bobs are still at a perfect length to curl, making beach-curls still possible! If you're going to try this look, take a picture (or even this one) into your hairdresser. The best way to get the look you want is to give a visual example.

Look 2: Bohemian and Light

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have been known for their bohemian-chic style. This classic summer look may be achieved with some simple hair products. Beach hair looks best when texturized, aka sea salt spray. Companies like Bumble & Bumble carry sea salt spray, drug stores carry a cheaper alternative, or you can even DIY your own! To make your beach-hair more bohemian, add a couple of small braids.

Look 3: Pink

If you're blonde, freshen up your look by going a couple shades lighter then dying your hair light pink! Light pink hair is cute yet edgy and fresh. A cotton candy pink is subtle and pretty in the sun. During spring and summer, hair should be lighter in color for a more fresh appearance. Manic Panic's cotton candy pink hair dye is vegan and has had tons of great reviews.

Look 4: Braided Beauty

Julianne Hough nailed this look perfectly. A braided crown can be for special occasions or just for a mess-free day. Elegant and beautiful, this hair keeps the hair out of your face for when you're doing activities and is also perfectly polished for getting dressed-up.

OOTD: Gaby's Casual Spring Outfit

Walking around school, I seemed to receive positive feedback from this outfit. So now here for the entire internet to see, a spring outfit! I love pairing something that flows with something tight. Adding simple, yet cheap, accessories is an easy way to play up an outfit too. Urban Outfitters has such a great variety of sunglasses for about $10-$18. So here is a great look to either wear to school (if you love being dressy, like me) or just about anywhere. This look may be construed as casual or even dressy.

Spring Nail Polishes

When I think of spring I think of pastels and bright colors. It's when the sun starts coming out again and flowers are in bloom. This spring I have been loving these colors: Coverup by Urban Outfitters, The "It" Color by OPI, Nude by e.l.f., and St. Lucia Lilac by Essie. These polishes are a mix of brights and pastels that make your nails pop for the season.
See you next time!

Bohemian Spring Looks

Hello there Lacefigurettes! A major fashion trend that's been showing up a lot this year is the Bohemian look. Events like Coachella bring out a festive side in people and the Bohemian look is very popular during the spring/summer time. The following pieces are some examples of boho pieces from Topshop and I will further mention more stores you can purchase things like these from!

These are two different bohemian outfits. One is a straight-out bohemian outfit whereas the other is something that you can build up on with different pieces and accessories.
On the left: I would consider this a very bohemian outfit. The patterns and textures in it scream out casual and boho. Bohemian clothing seems very 'hippie-dippy' and natural looking. The flowing pants are comfy and cute at the same time.
On the right: The right isn't very bohemian, but with the right accessories, it can be! People think that you have to buy ridiculous clothes that you'll only wear once a year for a special event. In this case, you can reuse both these pieces for any normal day! To make this look more boho-chic, add some round sunnies and a sheer kimono.

These are some great accessories to add onto your outfit. You could wear anything plain or even a more festive outfit to make it look more eccentric.
Floral headbands have been very popular at events like Coachella. Cult Gaia has a great selection of crowns, but they're very pricey. Kimonos are being sold at tons of different places now like Urban Outfitters and Topshop, they're great for when you want to transform a plain outfit!

OOTD: 5/3/13

Today, I decided to show you guys what I wore a few days ago. The color combination is not something I would usually wear but I am really happy I tried it. On a normal day, I would not wear black and yellow together because it reminds me of a bumble bee. On the morning I threw this outfit on however, I was just looking for something quick that wouldn't look lazy. I didn't even remember the bumble bee part until I was out the door, and I am happy I didn't. I like how casual yet put together this outfit looks. It made me realize that even though there are colors you "are not suppose to put together," it doesn't matter and you should just try it. It might work, just like the bumble bee.

Simple Cat Eye

Hey guys! So this is just a simple little 4-step picture of how to create the perfect cat-eye. I do this on a daily basis because I think that it gives your face a much more vintage look. Liquid eyeliner works best for this look because you'd want the line to be very fine and solid.

Here is the part where I go all personal and gushy: Thank you all for your never-ending support! We have surpassed 10,000 views in under a year and I could not feel more accomplished for just starting. If these great ratings continue, Sam and I will have more interactive events that aren't private. If you actually know us in person, this Saturday there will be a clothes sale so feel free to message either one of us.
